Imagine that me and my whanau have walked out of the hotel and into a restaurant across the road. At the restaurant me and my family are offered a traditional breakfast meal. Here is the breakfast list:
Canada – Pancakes with maple syrup
Mexico – Chilequilas
Chile – Sweet tea and buttered toast
England – Full English Fry-Up
Germany – Brotchen (bread), cheese and salami platter
United Arab Emirates – Chebab (Wrap)
South Africa – Cup of tea and a rusk (hard bread)
Japan – White rice, fish, meso soup and natto (fermented beans)
Malaysia – Nasi Lemak (rice, vegetables and meat)
Australia – Vegemite on toast
Hi Jahzara,
ReplyDeleteIt looks like we both have a very similar breakfast! I usually have cereal, fruit and milk to start the day and I love it. Sometimes I have toast but I don't think that I would enjoy having Vegemite on it. Have you ever tried Vegemite? What about Marmite? I can still remember the first breakfast that I had when I moved to New Zealand and I was given Marmite on toast. I'd never seen anything like it before! In Canada we usually put butter, jam or peanut butter on our toast.
It's fun to be blogging with you about breakfast as I am currently sitting here eating my breakfast as I type. The timing was perfect :)
Keep up the great work!
Rachel
I have tasted Vegemite and marmite. My dad loves marmite
ReplyDeleteHi Jahzara,
DeleteI love to read that your dad likes Marmite. Does he eat it on toast only or does it put it on other things as well? I had a roommate for a year named Melanie who is from Dunedin, New Zealand and she used to eat Marmite on lots of different foods, including fruits and vegetables. She would dip apple slices in to the Marmite jar and spread it onto celery. Does your dad like to do that, too?
I must admit that I do that with peanut butter. It is so delicious on apple, cucumber and celery. Yum!!
Take care this morning Jahzara. Perhaps you can have some Marmite for morning tea?!
Cheers,
Rachel
Well some times he puts it on toast but most the time he eats it on other things is well
DeleteAh, I see. I thought that might be the case :)
DeleteThanks for writing back to me this morning. It's really fun to blog back and forth with you online.
Cheers, Rachel
Hi Jahzara! It was fun reading this blog and then your conversation with Rachel. I don't really like either vegemite or marmite. What I do like is strawberry jam and honey (but not together haha).
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work as always!
Mark
