Camp 2021 (Step up 2021)
Camp was amazing this year! We were given the opportunity to step out of our comfort zone. Which was cool to see everyone giving it a shot.
The activities were so much fun. I would've liked to do the flying fox or even go for a swim, but obviously it's too cold. The next set of year 8's should have the amazing opportunity to do what we experienced and I feel like they should be just as greatful as we were. The Kauaeranga Site had the option of a camp fire. I feel like the year 7's moving into year 8 would have a wonderful time having amazing conversations while roasting marshmallows or even singing songs. It would also be really cool to see the future year 8's participate in some new things.
But I also feel like in 2021 year 8's should have more time at camp. Maybe a week or so? A week to do more activities with friends and to find their way around.
Overall, the 3 days spent at camp are really important. You get to learn new things and lesson and shine through. Treasure these opportunities and try it out :)
That's all from me :)

Day four of no school | It's Time For The Holidays! |
This morning was a bit different. We got to face time all of the teachers from team 5 and majority of the team 5 block. We had the opportunity to say the karakia as a team and even got someone to say our school mihi. After that we sang a waiata. Mrs Moala then explained what we were scheduled to do today. First we had home class!
We worked on Te Whare Tapa Wha. I found it really cool. We even had the chance to face time Whaea Kelly. It was nice getting to see Whaea Kelly and catching up with her. Well, time went by and I had to do a couple things at home. I missed out on our literacy call but I made it back in time for the Assembly live stream. Mr Somerville put together a live stream for parents and students at home to watch. It was like any other assembly except the fact we weren't at school. We said the school karakia and even sang the national anthem. The teachers even did duffy certificates. We did lunch box heros like always and Mr Burt even had a korero for us. Once we accomplished all of that we sang a closing waiata, then the live stream ended. I carried on with my home class work then had a little break outside. I was playing with my little sisters Gene and Faith.
Time passed and it was time to call Mrs Stone. We planned to face time like we did yesterday. Half the class join at 12:30pm and the other half at 1:00pm. As it is the last day of schooling at home, Mrs Stone decided to do something fun with us. We were able to play a couple of kahoot games. It was a lot on fun. For the first game we played a movie quiz. I absolutely love movies!! Especially Disney movies. Lucky me huh :) The quiz was really fun. It made it even better that we got to play as a class. We got to choose a name to join the quiz. My name was Luna. It's short for a flower I really like, Lunaria. Well, we finished the quiz and guess what? I came first! Looks like all my movie watching payed off :)
The second game we played on kahoot was about music from 2019, last year. I changed my name to Blossom, another flower I really like. For the first few questions that got asked, I was coming in the top 5. But as more questions got asked I started to lose points. Don't get me wrong, I love music as well as movies but I think the questions were a bit too hard for me. Half way through the quiz, I started gaining more points and made my way back up onto the leader board. But then I got overtaken by Toby! It was a close game but, coming to the end of the game I regained my points and came in 3rd place! It was a lot of fun.

It was coming to the end of the day and so I decided to write about a few things I've done today. I maybe have even asked a friend to pick a number for the bingo sheet I have. You'll just have to wait and see :)

Well, hello blog viewers again. As you may know It's the last day of distance learning. I just wanted to write a quick thank you to all the teachers that have given up their time to teach us students. Teaching us a whole bunch of new things, at school and at home. Term one has been such a cool and bumpy term! I had a lot of fun with my teachers, friends and family. I really appreciate the things our teachers sacrifice for us. God bless, and have a fantasting holiday!

Day Three of no school | Enjoying your day ? |
_________________________________________________________________________________
Well anyways, distance learning has been pretty cool for the last couple of days. It's going really well. I find that people seem to sleep in when its time to call their literacy teachers but I also find that normal. I hope the teachers are finding distance teaching easy. Hopefully :)
To kick off our distance learning we started with literacy. It was fun! Miss Tapuke asked her students if they wanted to share their learning and knowledge. Marika started us off. The text they read was called East German Childhood. Half the time I didn't really know what they were talking about since I hadn't read their text but Marika gave us lots of information. Miss Tapuke then asked Campion (our reading group) & Waititi (Another reading group) some questions about our text. We answered them and Miss Tapuke sent us off to finish our work.
I'm still behind on some work but I'm trying to finish that off. I worked on my create tasks as time went by. Then it was time to watch PENN. And yes I watched a video off Archives. Me and my sister decided to watch some Fiafia items from 2018. It brought back a lot of memories. Me and my sister, like always went outside and played on the trampoline. Keeping fit :) We had some fruit and came back inside to carry on with work.
Once we came back inside I decided to watch the video Mrs Stone had put on the new presentation she had put up for us. We're still on the topic, Ratios! It's a lot of fun :) I completed the slides then switched back to literacy as I waited for time to pass by. Waiting to call Mrs Stone. Like yesterday, our call started at 1:00pm. I joined the maths call a few minutes before we were suppose to join but half the class had already joined! They were playing Kahoot. After they finished, Mrs Stone removed the people off the call and talked to the other half of the class that joined at 1:00pm.
Mrs Stone explained why we split into 2 groups. We all agreed that having 25 people on one call is very hard to deal with and so we split into 2 groups. Having around 13 people on the call for each session. This time the call was so much better. It wasn't so tragic like the last couple of times :) The other group played kahoot too! It was lots of fun :) We finished our Ratio Kahoot and I came 5th place, not bad. Having some time left we decided to have a fun kahoot game. We did superheros! Believe it or not, I came 2nd! Then we got sent off the call and carried on with our work while I listened to some relaxing music :)
I had a lot of fun today. I reckon I worked really hard. Even though I haven't quite finished my literacy work, I'm almost there!
Make sure to be safe & keep your distance.
Maybe get to know yourself better now that you'll have time :)
God loves you xo

Day Two of no school :) | What's up ? |
Usually on a Wednesday I'd be at Extension but because I was at home I got right into literacy.
This time I decided to do the create tasks because I've already answered the questions. Later on, it was finally time to call Miss Tapuke. This time it was different. She explained our tasks like usual but then gave us a quiz. She asked us questions about our texts, and we answered them :) After the quiz Miss Tapuke decided to send us off the hangout to do our work. I had a little break with my sister. We had a snack and played outside. It was lots of fun. After all, isolation is driving me crazy !
We came back inside and I carried on with my literacy task as my sister Eva went on with her school work too. I then decided to switch to maths :) Mrs Stone had new work set for us. I had a look at the video she had made for us and scrolled down to see a brand new slide waiting to be completed. I had a look at the video she had inserted in the slides and responded when she asked us too. She helped us complete the first 3 slides. She then let us try to solve the following slides.
It was a bit different as our maths call was moved to 1:00pm. Well, it was time to call each other! We did the rest of the word problems on the slide together on the call because some people were still confused (including me :) Once again, the call was very very very tragic! Some forgot to mute themselves and it was just, really confusing. It didn't help that it was a bit laggy but doing learning at home with your teacher is better then nothing :)
Once we finished out hangout Mrs Stone set us off to complete the presentation. We all got removed off the call one by one and did our learning for today. Time went by and all of a sudden it was 3:00pm!
It would've been the end of school but I kept pushing to get a couple of things finished.
In the end i'd say I'm proud of what I've accomplished today.
I hope you're all having a good time, don't forget to be safe!
God Bless xo

Day one of no school: How's it going?
I answered a few of the questions and well it was time to watch PENN. But because I was at home and no one was at school, there was no PENN. So I decided to watch something off our school Archives. I then had a little snack for morning tea and had a little break then did the bingo sheet Mrs Tele'a handed us. Later on I did some of my maths work. Had a flick through the presentation and answered a few of the questions. 12:20pm came around and it was time to call Mrs Stone about our maths work.
She explained our tasks just like Miss Tapuke did! We did a small workshop with each other, answering a few of the questions together and showing each other strategies of solving them. The call with Mrs stone and room 11 maths class was a bit Tragic. It was really noisy! But it was still a lot of fun :) Mrs stone then removed us from the call and again, we did our work.
It was then lunch time! I had a pie! It was amazing :) I had a little play outside on our trampoline and also played around with my younger sister Eva. 2:00 hit and it was the end of my lunch break :) It was time to do some home class learning. Usually we do FIOP (finish it off properly), Blog commenting or our inquiry work which is Te Whare Tapa Wha. So I decided to do FIOP. I eventually got to finish some work off and finally it was 3:00pm which means school was officially over!
I had an amazing day, I'm still not used to learning at home but I'll have to get used to it eventually.
Stay safe everybody and hope you had an amazing day! God bless you all xox

of the ways to bring more empathy and life into my type of music. I am currently learning how to
play the keyboard/piano. I like to think of it as a splash of refreshment towards my mind.

Why you you/I come to school?
coming to school?
Introduction: What is the purpose of coming to school? Well, many different people may have different reasons
as to why they come to school. Teachers also have their reasons too. From loving the children
they teach and from having the evilest children ever. I’m just kidding. But why do we come to
school? Have a flick through and see why I come to school. Firstly, kids mainly come to school to have a good and better education. In my experience, my
parents sent me to school because they expect a high standard of my learning. And to possess
my high learning standards they sent me to school. We are super lucky to have teachers that
take their time and teach us many different things. Our teachers may not enjoy coming to
school some days but, they still do. Secondly, I come to school to have fun. Some people may think “What’s fun about coming to
school?” Think about it. We get time to rest our minds and to have a rest from learning. Morning
tea & Lunch! Morning tea and lunch is a time for children to eat, drink water and get to hang with
your friends. Socializing! One day I may wake up, not in the mood and not ready to come to
school. But usually, when I come to school my friends make me happy, and sometimes even
make me forget about being in a bad mood. Lastly, coming to school may help with your future. If you didn’t come to school, if you didn’t
have an education then how would you have a future career? What knowledge will you have to
become what you want to be? I want to be an optometrist. Optometrists studies eyes. For me to
become an optometrist I have to study, and for me to study, I need a good education. My
education first came from school. From the moment I first started school, I learned many other
things and well, look at me now. Conclusion: Well, there you have it. I come to school to have “A better education, to have fun and to help with
my future career.” School can be boring sometimes and I know some of you can relate but, the
school can also help with your future, so don’t skip school just because you want to. Why do you come to school?
Task Description:
Room 3 was given the task to write an essay about why we come to school. Our essay had to be 5 paragraphs long. An introduction, information 1, 2 and 3 and a conclusion. This was an explanation writing. Once we were finished writing our essay we were given the task to post it on our blogs with a Title, Walt, Task Description and appropriate labels.
Should students have to wear school uniform?
Should students have to wear school uniforms? There are many different reasons to why we should wear school uniform and many others can agree with my statements. Not wearing school uniform could bring problems like bullies. And there’s another reason to why we should wear school uniform. Read on to find out more.
Firstly, having to wear uniform brings less stress. In the mornings trying to find outfits for the day can bring stress to many people. How? Well, when having to find an outfit, it takes time. And so “How will that bring stress?” If your school bell rings and your still busy trying to pick out an outfit then of course you're going to be at school late. Having to wake up to a uniform everyday will help kill time.
Secondly, because every student has to wear the same piece/look of clothing will help with bullies. When students come to school dressed in their choice of clothing others may judge them because what they are wearing. With uniform, bullies don’t get the chance of picking on someone because of what they’re wearing. Why is this? Well, because every student has to wear the same piece/look of clothing. It’ll be hard for bullies to find features to mock someone about.
Lastly. When wearing uniform it brings pride to their school. With students having their school logo, pride is shown when visitors come to visit and other schools as well. Uniform could also be for sports teams too. Not also when people come to your school but it’s also when your school visits other places. If you have ever visited a public place, wearing a school uniform may help the teachers keep track of students by not losing them.
Conclusion:
Wearing school uniform is very helpful with many different reasons. It could show pride in your school, bring less stress in the mornings and will help with bullying problems. There’s why I think students have to wear school uniform. Of course some of you may disagree but, I won’t debate. We all have our reasons.

Quick write (Death note)
Death Note first started off with a boy. He was a first year law student at university. One day he found a notebook. At the front of the book he found that the cover said, “Death Note.” This book came from another world, or as I like to use, another universe. The use of this book is to bring death upon bad or even good. The way this book works is, You write someone's name into the book. Using their first and last name. Once doing that, 6 minutes and 40 seconds will pass and whom you have written in the death note shall die with the cause of a heart attack. Light got addicted to the book and wanted to use it for criminals, he wanted it all for himself.
Reason 1:
What fascinates me is how people can get so addicted to one or more object so fast. Finding something on one day then, using it more than 5 times a day. Some people don’t notice that they are addicted to things. And in this case Light didn’t realize that he was addicted to the notebook he had found.
Reason 2:
Graphics. I found the graphics used in this show was on a high lead to my liking's. Other people may think differently to me but I believe Death note is a fantastic Anime show. The graphics are well detailed. I love the way the characters have been thought through carefully and have been drawn with lots of details.
Task Description:
In this piece of writing we only had 10 mins to write. We do quick write every now and then. The point of quick write is to warm our brains up to get ready for some other work. Quick write is also a time for us to think about the words we use and the structure of our writing.

Fairy Tales!
Task Description:
In this presentation we had to write some interesting introductions to different fairy tales. The stories I chose were: Toy Story, Tangled/Rapunzel and Cinderella! Using these stories I had to make the reader hooked into read on wards! This was very fun as I got to pick amazing stories and create intro's/openings to these stories!

Cinquian Poems
Task Description:
In this task I had to create a cinquian. A cinquian is a short story but in poem form. The first line has to have 2 syllables, the second has 4, the third has 6, the fourth has 8 and the last one has 2. So as I have just explained there has to have five lines in a cinquian poem. Have a look at my poems that I have created in the next slides ahead. Comment down below if you have come up with any poems of your own.

How many favourite event’s do you have, during your school years?
Fiafia, Athletics, Cross country, camps and more. All of those are super fun to do at school but, I just can’t choose a favourite event! Do you have one?
One of my favourite events that I have participated in, is year 6 camp on Kawau Island! Kawau island is one of my favorite highlights of all the years I have been at Pt England. While at Kawau island my favorite event was jumping off the wharf! It was the most fun time I have ever had with my friends! Kawau island is one of the best camp I have ever been on! Is there a favourite camp that you’ve gone to?
Kawau island was a awesome experience for all the year sixes. We got to see lots of animals that some of us have never been able to see before! We saw lots of Weka’s and also wallabies. While hiking up killer hill we only got to see about two wallabies. Those are mostly the only animals we saw while camping on Kawau island. One of the Weka’s we saw was named legless, he had one leg and because of that he is now named legless.
Kayaking! Kayaking was one of my favorite activities we had done while on Kawau island. We paddled far out into the sea. We got to see a couple of stingrays and a whole lot of sand! While out in the sea we played a game. We had to form a line, holding on to the kayaks beside you. After that, two people would stand, run across, and sit down in the other persons kayak. Unfortunately I fell out of my boat and had a fun time in the cold, freezing water!
I hope you have enjoyed my favorite event at P.E.S! I got a awesome opportunity to be a leader for mansion B. Comment down below, what’s your favourite event when you were at school, or even if you are still at school :)
Task Description:
For this task we had to write 3-5 paragraphs explaining what your favourite event is at P.E.S! Some example's are, Camp, Fiafia, Athletics and more. This time we had to use SEE (Statement, Example, Explain). Using SEE really helped me with this task.

How would you be a good role model?
Sitting up, listening, being calm and positive and not being afraid to show your strengths are all apart of being a role model. Could you pull off these steps and become a role model, not just for younger kids but, for all?!?
Task Description:
For this task we had to list down steps to being a good role model. We had to include using TIIC (Title, Intro, Information and conclusion). We also made sure that we had interesting and descriptive language!

How Was Week 1 Of School?
Well, My home and literacy teacher is Mrs Tele'a. Mrs Tele'a, she is a fun, awesome and a amazing teacher. For the first week she gave us lots to do. One of my favorite things I did this week is, drawing our visual mihi. My visual mihi has 4 things I admire and really like, so technically my interests. On 1 side I have Ratana Pa and The Tongan flag. On the other I have some koru's shaped as a love heart and in the middle I have written the word Maori. At the bottom of the koru's I have written "Family" which represent (of course) my family. I am really looking forward to learning some harder skills for math, literacy, spelling ETC.
I hope I have a amazing year this year!

#2: Do you sell your creations? I would definitely sell my creations, especially if someone really likes or enjoys it, wouldn’t you think? I would probably have to test it our first just in cause they might want a refund.
what I mean, here’s what i’m trying to say. So why did you commit and put your mind on
designing your own outfits? You probably just loved and enjoyed doing it right?

Acid rain!
three days and three nights. When the rain fell, you stayed inside with your friends and
family. When it stopped, however, you and your family decided to go for a walk outside.
You opened the door and...
walked outside after the acid rain storm. To earn full points, you must write a story that is
8 – 10 sentences long.
mum. Eva quietly said “Shhhhhhh, listen…., it's stopped!”
we?” Softly said Eva. “Not yet, wait about 30 minutes to see if it had actually cleared off” said
dad. 30 minutes went by and everyone was getting ready, putting jumpers on and warm fluffy
hats! 3, 2, 1! Ajani twists the doorknob and….”oh my goodness” says mum.
was left, a very big, long stick, in the ground. There was hardly any grass and no FLOWERS!
What they all discovered was like no other. There no hardly any people out of there house,
hardly any cars and hardly any….nothing! Their country was in big danger!

food?, without…..!” “okay, okay we get it” said dad. Our animals have passed onto their own
lives now” said Eva. “It’s not fair that they had to leave.” Everyone was all looking up “It’s alright,
well, find a way to get them back, well find a way to get everything back.” said Jahzara
rain is rain with bad chemical in it, so polluted rain. At the end the family find that they need to
get everything back and so they are now planning to do so. This story can relate to our world.
“Our world is getting polluted, others my school, my family and I are doing so much to make sure
this doesn’t happen. Look after our world because sooner or later our world will start to crumble
away, little by little.”
