Blindfolded

Walt: Use correct sentences to help structure 

When you hear the word blindfolds what do you think of? I think of smashing into things, trust, and also obstacle courses. I didn’t expect to be blindfolded today!

Our morning in class started off with getting ready for a fun yet nerve wracking experience. To get ready Mr Goodwin made us line up outside. We walked to the wet green field and listened to our intrusions. Our instructions were to find a buddy and sit down. Mr Goodwin told us about what we were going to be doing, we were going to be blindfolded and were going to be taken around the playground. When I heard the word blindfolds and playground I think my heart rate went up a lot with excitement. 

My buddy was Eden. Eden and I were politely arguing about who was going to be blindfolded and who was going to lead. Once we finished arguing it ended up to be that I was going to be blindfolded first. I put the black blindfold on and set off to my journey. I felt like I could trust Eden and so I just let her take me anywhere. We went on the monkey bars, climbed up the ladders and just enjoyed our time, “stop and listen” Mr Goodwin called (as some of you know we usually call stop, look and listen) He called stop and listen because some of us couldn’t see.

My time was over and it was my turn to lead. First I took Eden to the flying fox, She swung back and flue across to the other side. She did hit her leg a bit, although I was rapidly calling “put your legs up”. I don’t know if Eden did trust me? Because of that I decided to take her on higher things so I could gain trust. We went up some ladders down a pole and stood in the middle of a high wood platform. Mr Goodwin called “stop and listen” once more and our fun exciting time was over.

I didn’t think we would have had so much fun when doing such a scary thing. I really wish I could have gone on many different things and, also wish we could have done this all day. Overall this experience was so much fun, I hope we could do more things like this more often!

Task Description:

In this task room 7 had to write a recount. We had to use correct sentence to structure a correct paragraph. We also had to use descriptive language to write a recount. 

Term 4, Te Wa Toi

Walt: Use correct sentences to help structure our writing.

The holidays are over and school has started again. The theme this term is all about art. Our theme this term is called Te Wa Toi. Are you excited to be back at school?

One of my favorite hobbies are art. This term we are learning about art and what types of art we can use. I love to draw, color and paint. This term we also have prize giving, athletics, manaiakalani film festival, reports and year 6 camp.This is my last term of being a year 6 so I will miss my teachers. It’s gonna be a great term.


My first goal that I want to achieve this term, is to become a leader for year 6 camp, Kawau island. My second goal that I would like to achieve this term is to confidently animate a animation this term. I would like to show more detail and a better descriptive voice over.

I want to learn about why artist give their paintings and drawings certain names and why they put it up for so much money! Another thing I would like to learn about is the meaning behind paintings and why artist would give meanings to their paintings. One more thing I want to learnt about is what is origami.

Overall I think Te Wa Toi will be a fun yet busy term. There’s a lot on this term like camp manaiakalani prize giving, and i’m hoping to reach my goals, and learn lots about different types of art. Overall this will be a great last term of being a year 6!

Task Description:

For this task room 7 wrote about this new term, and what our goal and expectations are. Room 7 also took a lesson on how to write a proper conclusion. I really enjoyed learning about how to write a conclusion, and I hope to learn much more about artist, paintings and origami.

Decimal Bronze Problem

Walt: Understand Decimal place value


Task Description:

In this presentation Mr Goodwin has put in number for us to turn it into a decimal numbers. To help us with decimals Mr Goodwin has put in the trendy house. The trendy house has the trendy numbers. In each column there is the tens, ones, decimal point, tenths hundredths and thousandths. 

SCHOOL!

YAY school is starting on Monday which is tomorrow I am so excited to be back and find out what the new theme is! I hope it is going to be fun. This term we have a lot of things to do there is prize giving this term. I wonder what our dance is going to be? I can't wait to see my friends, teachers and just be back in class. I hope you enjoyed all my holiday blog post because I wont be doing any more anytime soon.

Netball tournament

Today is the day where I finally get to play netball. I am so excited because I am going to have lots of fun playing netball with my friends, Talk a lot and also laugh a lot. I hope we win all of our games. If we win some i'll be okay with that, but if we lose all our games well, better luck next time. Me and my mum went outside and set off to leave the house. IT WAS FREEZING!!! We went off to the courts and heaps of people were there. Lots of cabanas and set ups. We had 11 people in our team but in the start there was only 8 so we waited until the rest of our team came. A bit later we had to get ready for the parade. Tonga was hosting the parade this year and so we got to march first. While waiting for the other player to march up to the front, I saw lot of friends from school, about 6 or 7. After the march we went to our gazebo and waited for our first game to start. Time went by and we got ready for our first game. I played in the second half. We had 14 mins in one half and in the other. We played Niue first. WE WON 8/4. Next game was against Cook Island. I played the 2nd half for all the games. We won Again, 18/14. Our next game was against Samoa. We won again, 18/6. We had 2 more games left. Another Niue team and Maori. We won both of our game and so we won all our games!! The score for Niue was 15/4 and the score for Maori was 26/2. This was my 3rd year playing in the Pacific cup and my first year winning all my games. As people say 3rd times a charm. I had lots of fun.

 

Up The Mountain

 Today we went up the Mount Wellington mountain. We woke up pretty late today but once everyone was awake we got my little sisters ready for kindy then took them to kindy. After taking them to kindy we realized no one had, had breakfast because we were all in a rush. We decided to have a late breakfast after the walk around the mountain. It was so fun walking around the mountain because I had so much energy. I don't know why but I was so hype even with a empty stomach. Well, I almost run the whole mountain, yes that is how hype I was. My sister and cousin was very scared of heights and so they were being drama queens. I had lots of fun scaring them. We saw a few dogs. One very happy to be outside and 3 cute dogs. We went around the other half of the mountain then went home. I'm lucky I did not fall. We went home and made us a healthy breakfast. We had fruity shakes. A couple minutes after breakfast we had to pick up my little sisters because one had a very high temperature. On the way to their kindy it was a DISASTER. We almost ran out of gas. So we almost got stuck in the middle of the road but lucky we made it home with filled up gas.

Last Training (So Excited)

On Wednesday I went to have one last netball training. It was a very fun and silly training. First as always we did our drills. Next we did our stretching. Then got into some more drills. After all of that we decided to play a quick game. As I said I love to play WA (wing attack). So I played WA. I love to play netball because it is so fun and it also is a good way to keep me fit. Well anyways I don't even know if we won because we were all to busy laughing. I am so excited for our tournament. After my netball training we went to play at the park. We went to the park to wait for my little sister finish kindy. We played tag. After a while we went to pick up my little sisters then went to have lunch. Which was SUSHI! We all had teriyaki chicken on rice all except for my aunty and cousin. If you are wondering where are my parents well they are in Cambridge watching my brother play rugby. My aunty had a, actually I forgot. My cousin had a no cut tuna and avocado roll. Once we had our lunch we packed up and went home. After a while we went home. When we went home we decided to do our nails so we did them. We made a big mess but we did clean up after us. I'm having lots of fun this holidays, and don't worry the photos are from my aunty's Snapchat account.

Hanging out

On Monday I went to one of my friends (Marika) house just to hang out. In the morning I woke up went to get changed and came downstairs. Then I went to go get my little sisters ready for kindy. After that I had breakfast and took my little sisters off to kindy, then made our way down to Marika's house. When we arrived at Marika's house I knocked on the door, Marika came to awnser. Once she opened the door I was so excited to hang out with my friend. I came in and we started to play with slime (us girls love slime). A few minutes we went outside to Marika's secret garden. We walked to the secret garden and at the garden oh the secret garden there was a plastic bag fulled with shells. We made a little pathway to the secret garden. Which isn't so secret anymore well anyways, we went back inside and later on we went to pick up another friend (Pisirina). We went to her

house picked her up and went back to Marika's house. Later on we went to Marika's grandmother (Gigi). After visiting Marika cousin and grandmother we went to the city to go get some ice cream. The ice cream store is called Giapo. We went in and got some free samples. My flavor ice cream I got was hokey pokey. My ice cream got dipped into chocolate and there was a row of real hokey pokey yummy. After eating our ice creams we went for a walk around the city to burn off all the fat we just ate. We did about 6 miles of walking. We looked for the car, hoped in and discussed what we
were going to have for lunch. We decided to have sushi well teriyaki chicken on rice. It was really yummy after eating we went back to Marika's house then, yes your right played with slime. After playing with slime we decided to have a walk to the park. We took Marika's dodge ball and had lots of fun. We went back to Marika's house and hung out a bit more. If Marika and Miss King are reading I just wanted to say thank you for letting me hang out with you guys.

Trip to Cambridge

On Sunday me and my mum went shopping to buy my dad new shoes. We bought the shoes at Puma and everything was on special. During shopping my grandmother called and asked if we would like to come with her to watch my brother play his rugby tournament down in Cambridge. We had a little think about it and kept on shopping. After a few minute we finally found my dad's new shoes oh yea and our decision. It was my brothers first game and we didn't want to miss out so we agreed to go with my grandparents. Once we bought the shoes we quickly made our way home because we didn't want to miss our ride. We got home did a couple thing and my grandparents turned up, we hoped in the car and started our trip. It takes about 2 hours to get to Cambridge. By the time we started our trip me and my mum hadn't have breakfast so we decided to stop somewhere in Cambridge and get some....... pretty much brunch. Once we arrived close to Cambridge there were a lot of amazing houses views and it was so fun on thee road with loud music pumping. There were a lot of cows too. MOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. OK back to the story. We arrived in Cambridge and had a little drive around to find us some breakfast. We stopped and found a bakery. We went in and got some food. I got a mince and cheese pie, a drink and a cup of chips. YUMMM. After breakfast we went to St Peters and went to the field  my bother was playing on. It was very loud. Lots of people. There were even drums hyping up the crowd. (Skipping to the end of the game) My brother played the whole game and even got a try. They did win there game! (good on them). After watching his game I realized I had to experience that whole ride home back, until my grandmother said "should we go out for ice cream?" I sat up wasn't so sad anymore hahahah. I got a double scoop and the two flavors were lemon and lime and cookie and cream. After ice cream we went strait home and played around.

SWIMMING!

On Friday me, my family, one of my brothers friend and one of my cousin went swimming. We went to the Otahuhu pools. It was very fun as there was a little blue slide. I may have gone on that slide like 8 or 9 times. Well anyways, as we walked into the pools we received a purple wristband which was actually for the spa pool. We all received one. Once we went into the pools we had a shower and hoped into the pools. We had lots of fun. We had lots of fun at the pools, on the slide in the spa pools. There was also a bombing pool. My favorite part of swimming was the spa pool because it was very relaxing. The twins were allowed in the spa pool too!  There were 5 pools plus the water park outside. The kids pool, the pool with the slide in it, the spa pool the swimming pool (hahahah) and the booming pool. I went into the pool with the slide in it first then the spa pool then back in the pool with the slide in it then the swimming pool and its constant. We didn't take many photos and so those two are from after swimming. I had lots of fun.

Mini Tournament

 

So on Saturday I had a mini tournament to prepare us for next weeks tournament. I am in team 4 and our team is called Mohokoi (Mo-ho-ko-i). I am representing Tonga this year. My team is very fun and thankfully we have enough people. My coach and manager is very fun and nice. Well anyways, we had 3 games to play and unluckily we only won 1 game (SAD) but that is good because we should know what we need to work on for the next tournament. The other teams were very very good. The teams we played were from Tongan that's why it was a mini tournament. I had lots of fun getting to know people in the team. Doing netball drills. I'm so happy because I GOT NEW SHOES FOR NETBALL YAAY! Hopefully we do good next week and i'll keep you updated with whats going on. Oh yea and just to confirm we are not representing Australia.

Another Birthday

So today we are going to Happy Days (a restaurant) for my little cousins birthday. I'm very excited to go back to school because my cousin is turning 5. So you know what that means, he's coming to PT ENGLAND SCHOOL before we went any where we went to EXTREME a arcade/bowling center. I did pretty well with my bowling. I haven't done it in a while and my score was like 73, well around that number. After bowling we went over to the games. The fist game I played was (forgot what it's called) hit the clown (made that up). You got a timer and unlimited handballs to trow at the clowns. The top row was worth 30, the second was worth 20 and of course the bottom one was worth 10. My favorite game I played had to be the Laser Frenzy. We did quietly argue about who was going to swipe their card. Luckily I didn't have to swipe my card. My final score of tickets was 167, I decided to get myself a bunch of water balloons and a couple of lollies. After Extreme we had something to eat then went home. Once we got home I went to my room to get changed for netball training. 10 minutes later my mum took me to the netball courts. We did lots of running. After training my mum picked me u and took me home. When I arrived at home I ran inside and had a shower. After my shower I got changed, put my shoes on, did my hair and left. It was hard to find parking but eventually we found one. We sat in the restaurant for a while then the speeches then the prayer. We went to go get our food, then our 2nd then our desserts (ICE CREAM AND CAKE MM-MM) It was so fun playing around with my cousins especially the one who turned 5 Hahahahahah!

GOING TO JUMP

So Eva, my little sisters, mum and I are just getting ready to go to Jump (a trampoline park) for our cousin birthday. It's going to be lots of FUN. My cousin is so excited to go to Jump and is very excited to see us. For her birthday we bought her a Simon swipe. The Simon swipe is a very cool game. The Simon swipe will tell you a pattern and you will have to repeat that pattern anyways, see you when we get back!


So we just came back from Jump and it was so much fun. My favorite part about Jump probably had to be the foam pit. Every time I  jumped into the foam pit I always got stuck. I would hold onto a rope, swing back then swing into the foam pit. I did lots of tricks like the splits in the air, cartwheels and handstands! I also really liked the dodge ball area. I hardly got hit with the ball and so I hardly got out. There were also trampoline on the wall and so I did some tricks there too.
