What makes a great sibling?

Walt: Identify and use features of explanation writing

What makes a good sibling?
What makes a great sibling? Any ideas? Here are some simple ways you could be a great sibling. It’s as simple as caring for them! Being supportive and treasuring all the little memories with them.

Firstly, caring for them is one of the simplest things you could do to be a great sibling. For example, if your siblings are having a bad day try and cheer them up. Put a smile on their face! You never know, it could make them and you happy! You could also care for them by, sticking up for them. Don’t let your guard down. Protect them with all your heart. Even if they don’t want to tell you things that make them feel down. Always be there to care for them!

Secondly, be supportive. Being supportive with things they’ve never done before. Being supportive with sports, just being supportive in general. By my experience, my siblings need a lot of support. Through the tough times, they may need someone there to stand by their side and support them. Everyone needs support and I reckon some siblings need it most! Even going to support an older/younger sibling at a sports game. Cheering them on and making sure they don’t give up.

Lastly, make the most with them. Remember every little memory with them. Every life lesson with them, use them along life. My point is, all your memories with them you should remember because once your siblings are old enough they’ll be doing their own things. They’ll have other things to do, other things to worry about and sooner or later they may not be able to pay much attention to you. Remembering the little things like their birthday or even a family trip.

So there you have it, being a great sibling is a simple thing to do. From caring for them, to making the most with them. Be a great sibling and treat them right! Care for them and support them! What do you think it takes to be a great sibling?

Riverside Camp!!

On the 30th of September me and my sister got ready to go to camp! Not just any camp but, Riverside camp! But first we had to pack some clothes, shower equipment and more. We also needed a sleeping bag and pillow. Riverside camp is a annual camp that is held at Willow park.

At Riverside camp we get to play fun games like, messy games, water games and beach relays. We also receive fake money to spend on hidden items at dinner. Also know as auction time. The money also reveals the winning team on the last day of camp. The boys and girls had separate teams. By the end of camp there is a winning boys team and a winning girls team.

The first day of camp we loaded the bus and made our way to Willow park. Once we arrived we unloaded the bus and got into our teams. I was in Talita and Marcella's team along with Madison E, Leylani, Paulah, Madison C, Cyrus and Isla. We came up with the team name Royal Teez! We then made up a team chant and showed it to the rest of Riverside camp.

The first day of camp was pretty fun as we got to go to the beach and build sand castles. Not just any sand castles, Our dream village! That's right, We had to build sand castles based on our dream villages as a team! We were able to use shovels and spades, buckets and more. My favorite part of our creation was the nine mountains. The nine mountains represented our team. Our team members and the leaders added up to 9 people in total.

My highlight from camp has to be the messy games. We got to play 5 games. One of my favorite games was, Tug of war! Firstly we got to play tug of war on grass. We were up against a boy's team so it was pretty challenging. The first couple of rounds, they won. If you lose you have to nominate one person from the losing team to have a bucket of cold water poured over their heads. After playing on the grass. Then ... it got more intense. We had to play Tug of War on a slippery surface. Would you believe that our team won? Well if you do, you thought right! We won against the boys team many times. I think, girls just have better balance then boys :)

One thing that I will always remember is that, "God has a plan for us." No matter what I do, god still has a plan for me. He even has one for you! If you ever feel like somethings wrong in life just pray about it. God can always listen to your prayers. There can never be 1 to many prayers!

Riverside was a good time for me to make new connections with other people. It helped me bond with others. I got to meet some new people too. I can't wait for next year! :)
