Today room 9 & 10  had 2 special guests Makayla and Nathan. Makayla and Nathan are from OMG tech. OMG tech is a coding company.  If you don't know what coding is, here is you answer. Coding is where you can make you own games you can also play on other peoples games that they have made their self. One of the games that I played was Create our own google logo. Create your own google logo is when you can do anything.  You can change the color, you can do anything to the letters, you can even make them move.  Also even change the background. I made my own google logo, my google logo was representing out topic for this term which is musical madness. Create your own google logo was a cool game to play. I loved creating my own logo.     

My Ambassador Application

This is my ambassador application for 2018. My video is about myself, my family, my school learning and why I want to be an Ambassador. I really hope I will get chosen to become an ambassador because it will help my school learning and my confidence. My confidence is not that bad but I would love to see how my confidence will evolve during the year. If I become an ambassador I would be a role model to all my little sisters. I will also help them if they want to apply. I look up to my older brother because he became an ambassador. Now it is 2017 and next year my brother is a prefect which are the leaders of our school. My brother is the perfect person to look up to because he is confident. He can be shy sometimes but he still gives it a go. Hope you enjoy my movie!!

Immersion Assembly

Welcome everybody to a new start. It’s time for term 4!! Our theme for this term is musical madness. It might of been easy to guess we are going to be learning about music!! Anyways i’m not here to talk about what the theme for this term i’m here to talk about our immersion assembly.

Walking to the hall I was so excited to be back at school. We walked in and saw teachers all dressed up with some musical instruments. Mr Burt was dressed up as Bob Marley. Anyways it was time for team 1. Team 1 played with cards, they played snap. While they were playing they put on some music. When the music was played they changed their emotions so they changed the songs again and their emotions changed again. Finally it was over, once it was over Mrs Hockley said this term we are going to be seeing how music changes our emotions. I thought that was a great idea.

Next was team 2!! Team two’s item was about making music with musical instruments. They sang a song and also played musical instruments they sang in the jungle the mighty jungle. Ms Gaston played the ukulele. Miss Peck played the tambourine. Ms Tumahai played the xylophone, and Mrs Nalder played the bongo drums. It was a great way to start off the term.

You know what i’m going to say it’s time for team 3!! Team 3 did a song story. A song story is when you say something but carries on with a song. Team three’s  item was funny and really cool. My favorite song that they used was me myself and I. My favourite part in the movies was when Miss Davis pretended she was hanging from the roof. Don’t worry it was a green screen.

Now it was time for, team 4!! Team four did carpool karaoke. It was quit funny. Anyways as they were driving music came on and the teachers started singing. As the music changed it got funnier and funnier. My favourite song was one of the rock songs Because all the teachers were really funny and crazy. Then it was over and finally I could stop laughing.

It’s time for team 5. Team 5 was the funniest item that i’ve seen. Team 5 teacher did an  act. Team 5 watched a movie the movie was lion king. Team 5 didn’t watch the whole movie they just watched the part where Simba was put up in the air while the kingdom sang a song. As the movie played on that part of the movie kept repeating and repeating. While the song kept changing and changing. The songs were sometimes funny, sad and quit even funnier. The funniest song was let it go because when Simba got put up into the air the song kept saying let it go! Some people laughed but some people were a little sad.

Anyway that was the end of the immersion assemble. I hope you enjoyed reading about the immersion assembly.

The Calling Of The Conch

This weeks task we had a comprehension task. We had to read a book called the calling of the conch. 

The Flight Of The Bumblebee

This morning room 10 listened to a song. The song is called the flight of the bumblebee. When room 10 listened to the flight of the bumblebee we had to draw a picture of what you think is happening during the song. Miss West gave us some ideas, those ideas were maybe when the music is getting louder the darker you use the pencil and when the music gets softer the lighter you use the pencil. Miss West also said maybe a bee is chasing someone? I decided to go with my own idea. As you can see in my photo someone is falling, as the music gets louder she gets closer to the ground. I thought someone was going to hit the ground because the music is quite scary and loud.

3rd Semminar

On Tuesday the year 5 & 6 extension had there 3rd paideia seminar. The topic was, is being civilised such a good thing? I think it is okay to be civilised because civilised means to be good mannered. I think I did a better job in this seminar that the old seminar because I agreed and piggy backed off other ideas. I think I could talk more and have more confidence in myself.

Earth's Natural Resources

Imagine that all earth's resources disappeared. How would we survive? Imagine all human and animals are thirsty!  Would we be alive.

Why are natural resource important? Well our natural resources are what we need. If you don’t get what I mean, I mean water, tree’s things that keep us alive. We need plants we need water we need tree’s. Why do we need all these thing? If we didn’t have natural resources we would be very sick.

The most important resource for me is tree’s. Why? You ask, well tree’s produce oxygen and oxygen help us to breath. As I said before if we didn’t have this natural resource we would very sick. Moving on to the next natural resource.

The next natural resource that is important is water. Water comes from many different rivers or oceans but we are going to be talking about drinking water. If we didn’t have water we would be thirsty and dehydrated. Dehydrated means we don’t have enough water in our body. Your lips would start to dry up and we do not want that to happen. That's why drinking water is important. Did you know that you could survive without any food but with water for 3 weeks? Amazing right. On to the last natural resource.

The last important natural resource I will be sharing with is soil. Do we need soil? Your answer is yes. We need soil because soil helps us grow fruit and vegetables, food! That's right food. Vegetables and fruit are healthy for you too. One more thing is that soil helps up grow tree’s also. And tree’s help us to breath.

So there you have it all the important natural resource that are my favorite. Tree’s, water and soil, all my favorite. But again what would we do if we didn’t have natural resource? Think about it.

Cyber Smart On Gmail

This afternoon we were learning about being cyber smart on Gmail. We came up with some ideas and some of them were, ask a teacher before you send an email to someone. only go on if it's something important but still ask a teacher. My favorite idea was you are only allowed on Gmail if you ask a teacher but only if you're sharing collaborative work.

Rubric reflection

Hmmm is my Score what I expected? My rubric score for term 2 was very amazing. I worked very hard and I didn’t get what I expected. I thought my score would be a little bit lower that I thought, but I was wrong. You might be asking why my rubric score was amazing? Well on our planning/research we worked very hard as a group and we all did our very best to research about costumes, makeup and hair. We almost got a perfect score but I think we could have pushed our group just a little more. On the forum/Panel Discussion I was so amazed because I was the only one who contributed more than my other group members. Last term I was below them and now i’m higher, if I just push myself a little more I can become louder and maybe I won’t be as shy as last time.

In the next seminar my goal would keep sharing my thoughts and my work to others and to piggyback off others.

School Tomorrow!!

I love school but today is still a holiday. At the end of term 2 I was feeling down that school was over on that day but I was still happy that I got to spend time with my family in the holidays. In the past few days I had a lot of fun with my family but it's time to go back to school and learn different things. I'm super excited to go back to school and learn more. I am also excited to see Miss West my teacher and tell her all the amazing things I did during the holidays. But I am mostly excited to see all of my friends. See you at school!!

Happy Birthday!!!

yesterday was my little baby twin sisters Birthday Faith and Gene. They were turning 2 years old. we were planing on having a big feed with our families. in the morning we went shopping for the big feed we also got some nice clothes for the twins to wear. after shopping around we did the decorations and started cooking. After all of the food that we made we cleaned the house and waited till people turned up. we waited and waited but suddenly we hear bang bang bang! it was someone knocking on the door I opened the door and my nana and papa shouted happy birthday!! we said thank you and waited some more again we waited and waited then it got boring so I went out side to play we had so much fun more people turned up and it got packed. Anyways my dad told us to settle down and to keep the noise down. We said the prayer and started eating. The food was yum!! It was a big day for us and the twins happy birthday faith and gene.

Having Some Fun!!

On Tuesday we had lots of fun, we did lots of thing but most of the things were playing outside. I woke up in the morning and went in the lounge I watched TV and got my baby sisters out from their room. I asked my mum "can I take Faith and Gene outside to have some fun" she replied "not yet it's cold outside just wait for a little bit longer" I answered "OK" then went to watch TV more. 12:00 came around and got sunnier so I asked again and luckily she said yes so I took Faith and Gene out side and had some fun. My little sister Eva and my little cousin Harmony were jumping on the trampoline while I was with my other 2 sister drawing on the ground with chalk. My little baby cousin Villy was relaxing with my big brother Ajani. We had so much fun. once we got inside we were to lazy from all of that sunshine outside.
