Talanoa DLO
This is My Talanoa DLO. We got split up into a group of 4 and we builded ideas for our Talanoa DLO. Our Talanoa DLO is about when the year 5,6,7&8 went to the Auckland Museum Once we finished our DLO we shared what we learnt. Then posted it on our blog.

Walt: Find how much money Mr Goodwin spent in NZD
Task Description: In this presentation Room 7 had to figure out how much money Mr Goodwin spent in NZD. What I did, was I halved the amount that was spent, then I added that to the amount that was spent. Once I Add the two numbers together then the answer I get is how much NZD that Mr Goodwin spent on thing in Chicago.

The Disaster pizza
Walt:Write a story using interesting beginnings.
Mr Goodwin sat down to order his first Deep Dish Pizza. Only the chef had something different in mind
for Mr Goodwin’s pizza. Instead of the usual ingredients like cheese, tomato, and ham. The Chef instead
used most of the spiciest chilies. First was ghost peppers, next was jalapenos and lastly was Tabasco sauce.
Once the chef finished making Mr Goodwin's special pizza he went out of the kitchen and gave Mr
Goodwin his pizza.While handing his pizza the chef said “why don’t you have a try” Mr Goodwin’s face
turned bright red he felt like something went wrong but he didn’t want to be rude so he took his first bite
and his face turned dark red!!He panicked “I need water, I need water!”

In this piece of writing I have written a story about a Deep Dish Pizza. Room 7 had to use descriptive language and we also had to use interesting words. We had to write about Mr Goodwin in Chicago. Mr Goodwin gave us a beginning and room 7 got to chose a starter to start writing.

Is It to Big?
Walt: Find the perimeter of a sandwich
Task Description:
In this presentation room 7 had to find the perimeter of a sandwich. Room 7 also had to see if some of our teachers had to get a new sandwich bag to fit their sandwich in their bag. To do that we had to add up the perimeter of the sandwich.

Walt: Review A game and write a description.
The game Spab is a game on Cool Math Game, to win you would have to think critically about your
strategy. There are letters from you keyboard involved to get up on to high places. Also the arrows from
your keyboard help you to move, If you fall off the platform you have to restart the level. I liked that I had
to think carefully about each moved I made.

How I could improve on the game Spab is to look at the keys that I am using. Sometimes I fell off the

I would definitely recommend this game because it is loads of fun and it helps you to think really hard of
what moves you make. The one thing they should be able to improve on is to make sure each time you

Fun Writing
Walt:Write a fun piece of writing.
There we were getting ready to line up for assembly. Minutes later we walked into the the hall and sat down. Suddenly Mr Burt appeared and talked about the new korero for this week. This week Mr Somerville had the korero ready for the whole school to see. The korero was about Being sensible in the right time. Mr Somerville had an act to show. Seconds later he sat down on the stage stair with a microphone near him. All you could hear while sitting down was silence, until all the students laugh, and laugh, and laugh till they all run out of breath. Mr Somerville shouts at the top of his lungs, “WHO DONE THIS!!!” He says. All the students stop laughing and see that someone has put a whoopee cushion under his seat! They all laugh again and again and again. Nobody knows who put that whoopee cushion on the stage stair, and this case will be forever unsolved. TO BE CONTINUED…….

In this task I had to describe what a bat is. I also had to explain how a bat flies. I found that a bat is similar to a flying squirrel. This task is also a poster that explains a lot of facts.

Task Description: In this presentation we had to design the area of a shape on some slides it had to be a specific number E.g: one of the areas has to be 80 m. On some slides it also has to be a specific shape E.g One of the shapes can't be a rectangular shape.
Matariki Day Recount
Do you know what Matariki is? Well Matariki is a celebration of a Maori new years, Each year people set off firework to celebrate like always. This year Pt England school split up into different groups to celebrate Matariki.
A couple of days before we selected what group we wanted to be in. We had a lot of options, one of the options that I really wanted to be in was movie making. Somehow I didn’t chose a group. On that Friday we did the normal thing and got sent off to our groups, because I didn’t choose a group I had to see Mr Somerville. I begged him to be in movie making with Mrs Langitupu and I got to be in that group.
Once I arrived at ICT witch was where we did movie making, Mrs Langitupu split all her students into groups for filming. I got split up into a group of 5 and we got to film all around the school and asked people what they did so far. First we went to MKR (My Kia Rules), we asked a bunch of questions to a couple of people. We went to most of the cooking groups first but then we decided to go to one of the sports group. We interviewed Mr Moran and He talked so much so we had to cut some of him out.
After filming we went to go have morning tea and there was a crazy people, after morning tea we went back to our groups. We did the same thing and went around the school, interviewing people. We asked the same simple questions and we got a lot of the same, silly, and crazy answers. The group that I really enjoyed interviewing was one of the arts and craft group. They were painting a background and you could have it any way you would like. Then they cut out some paper stars and decorated it with glitter, drawing and much more.
Overall I had a really fun day. I loved going around the school, interviewing people and filming. The best part was that I got to be in charge of the camera! Have you ever celebrated Matariki like this? If you have please leave a comment down below and share what you did!

Little red riding hood (with a twist)
Little sisters and halloween
Once in a land far far away there lived two girls and a mother. They don’t live to far away from their
granny but it was halloween. Their village was filled with scary decorations. Even though their forest was
filled with beautiful plants and cute animals you never know what could happen.The 2 girls were sisters.
The first sister loved the color red, her name is Sophia, but the second sister love the color purple and he
name is Isabella. Their mum would call them little red riding hood and little purple riding hood. Each day
they would always wear a cape with there favorite color

Before they both left their mum handed them a basket full of treats and said “don’t stop walking and never
talk to any strangers.” Little red riding hood and little purple riding hood started traveling to their granny’s
house.

The Mystery
The forest was filled with lovely flowers and even cute animals. Some of grannies best friends are up to
something and no one knew what was happening. Granny’s friend the wood chopper distracted Sophia
and Isabella and said to them both “Look, Look at the lovely flowers why don’t you pick some flowers”
Little red riding hood replied “No sorry we don't have time, My mum said that we can’t talk to any strangers.
We need to get to our granny’s house.” The wood chopper panicked and no one knew why he said “I’m sure
your granny would love to have some beautiful flowers in her house” Sophia and Isabella both wondered
“Hmm Maybe she would” So for a few minutes they went picking for some flowers for their granny. While
picking flowers the wood chopper snuck out and ran off. Once Sophia and Isabella finished picking flowers
they bundled them up and walked once more.Finally Sophia and Isabella arrive at granny’s house. It was all
decorated for halloween. They both knocked on the door and said ”Granny we’ve come to deliver some food

The arrival
Sophia opened the door and saw granny lying there in her bed. Covering her face with her blanket“Hi
Granny It’s nice to see you” Isabella said. Granny slowly uncovered her face and said ”it’s nice to see you
too” Sophia jumped and said “Granny, what big ears you have” Granny said “the better to hear you” slowly uncovering her face. Sophia said with a soft voice“But granny what big eyes you have” “The Better to see you with” granny said still uncovering her face. Sophia and Isabella frigtenly said” “but granny what big teeth you have” Granny replied “of course the better the eat you with” Sophia and Isabella screamed!! While granny laughed taking off a wolf mask saying “Happy halloween” all her friends jump out saying “happy halloween to Isabella and Sophia. They were both confused and quite frightened. Granny said “Once i got the voicemail from your mother I've been setting up a little halloween gift for you both. Like the wood chopper he distracted you while I was getting ready. My house was already decorated and all I had to do is put my mask on”

As they went on with their party they had a awful lot of fun and the best halloween. They all had something to eat and Sophia's favorite was granny lemon cake. Isabella's favorite was the mini mince and cheese pies. All granny's friends danced along with granny and as they dances Sophia and Isabella started to walk back home. As they walked back home Sophia and Isabella talked. did you have fun?” Sophia said. Isabella replied “I had heaps of fun and it was probably the best halloween I’ve ever had” and they talked away they made it back home all safe and sound.
